Join our dedicated D&A Team in Barnet as a Children’s Social Worker (SSW). In this challenging yet rewarding role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Your primary responsibility will be to assess the needs of children and families, create and implement care plans, and work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for those in your care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments to identify the needs and risks associated with children and families.
  • Developing and implementing tailored care plans that address the unique circumstances of each case.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Building strong relationships with children, families, and various stakeholders to support effective intervention.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to strategy discussions.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working within a children’s social work setting, particularly in a D&A context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in child protection and welfare.
