Essex County Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our Children in Care (CIC) and Looked After Children (LAC) team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in our care. Your work will directly impact the lives of vulnerable children, ensuring they receive the support and guidance they need to thrive.
As a Social Worker in the CIC/LAC team, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assessing the needs of children and families, developing and implementing care plans.
- Conducting regular reviews of care plans to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- Building trusting relationships with children, families, and other professionals.
- Providing support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Experience working with children and families, particularly in a CIC/LAC environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
