Join our dedicated team as a Senior Social Worker specializing in Child Protection in Barnsley. In this pivotal role, you will work collaboratively with families, children, and external agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing needs, developing care plans, and implementing interventions that promote positive outcomes for children and their families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and making informed decisions regarding child protection matters.
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with families and relevant stakeholders.
  • Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and social work students.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and court proceedings as required.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in child protection or related fields.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
