We are seeking a qualified Adult Social Worker to join a safeguarding team in Blackpool. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting adults who may be at risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other forms of harm. You will work with individuals, families, carers, and partner agencies to promote safety, wellbeing, independence, and personal choice while ensuring that the person’s voice remains central to all decisions.

Your responsibilities will include undertaking safeguarding enquiries, assessing risk and need, developing proportionate protection plans, and coordinating effective multi‑agency responses. You will manage a varied caseload, maintain accurate and timely records, prepare reports, and contribute to professional meetings, reviews, and strategy discussions. The role will require you to apply relevant legislation, statutory guidance, local procedures, and professional standards, while using a strengths-based and person-centred approach. You will also provide advice and guidance to colleagues and partner organisations, identify opportunities for prevention and early intervention, and support positive outcomes for adults and their support networks.

Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Experience in adult social care, safeguarding, mental capacity, and risk assessment is essential, along with a sound understanding of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and related legal frameworks. You should be confident working independently in a complex and sensitive environment, with excellent assessment, recording, communication, and organisational skills. A commitment to equality, inclusion, professional accountability, and continuous development is required. The ability to build effective relationships, manage competing priorities, and make balanced, defensible decisions will be key to success. A current enhanced DBS check and satisfactory employment checks will be required before appointment.
