Caritas Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Adult Social Worker to join Essex County Council on a long-term contract, supporting the delivery of person-centred reviews across Adult Social Care services.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified social worker with strong adult services experience who is confident in carrying out strengths-based assessments and reviews, ensuring care and support plans remain outcome-focused, evidence-based and provide value for money.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete person-centred reviews of care and support plans across Essex.
- Manage a target of approximately 3 reviews per week.
- Apply a strengths-based approach to assessments and reviews.
- Work with adults with a range of needs including:
- Learning Disabilities
- Autism
- Physical Disabilities
- Sensory Impairments
- Older Adults
- Identify risks and make informed recommendations regarding support provision.
- Ensure care packages remain appropriate, proportionate and financially sustainable.
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience within Adult Social Care.
- Experience working within Learning Disabilities services.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding and adult social care practice.
- Understanding of the financial implications of commissioned care packages.
- Excellent assessment, review and decision-making skills.
- Strong IT skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (or ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role).
Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working model.
- Office base at County Hall, Chelmsford.
- Countywide travel required to undertake face-to-face reviews and assessments.
- Candidates based in Essex or within reasonable travelling distance are highly desirable.
