The Maintenance Worker will help to keep both projects in good repair by carrying out a range of general maintenance tasks, assessing the requirements of the job and purchasing materials. You must also be able to advise when a specialist contractor would be needed and be able to liaise with them.
Responsibilities
- General maintenance tasks and checks, including:
- Redecoration / painting
- Maintaining showers, sinks and WCs
- Checking water temperatures and fire doors
- Regular inspection of roof areas
- Carrying out PAT testing of electrical appliances
Requirements / Qualifications
You will have good customer service skills and be a team player, communicating with team members, managers and contractors. You should have an awareness of Health and Safety legislation and codes of practice as well as experience of general maintenance work and a willingness to undertake PAT testing training, if required, and other training.
Working pattern and duties
The hours of the role are 30 per week, to be worked between the core hours of Monday to Friday, between 8am - 5pm spread over 4 or 5 days. You must have the ability to work flexibly as there may be occasional work outside of your normal working hours and work at other Caritas sites. You must also hold a full UK driving licence to carry out collections and deliveries using the Caritas van.
