Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring students remain on task and lesson objectives are followed.
  • Create and maintain a calm, safe and purposeful learning environment with effective behaviour management.
  • Support students’ understanding of set work and respond to questions as required.
  • Prepare classrooms and resources for lessons and ensure rooms are left tidy and organised.
  • Monitor, collect and provide feedback on student work, including marking where appropriate.
  • Record attendance and report on student behaviour and any issues in line with school procedures.
  • Support inclusion by being aware of individual student needs and promoting a positive classroom environment.
  • Assist with wider school duties such as administrative tasks and student supervision as required.
