Are you an experienced support worker or looking to begin a career in supporting young people in a brand‑new service commissioned by Wiltshire Council? This is the opportunity for you. We are looking for Support Workers to join our Accommodation Based Services team, providing housing and support to unaccompanied asylum‑seeking children and care‑experienced young people in Wiltshire.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Management Team with the oversight of homes, leading on support and safety.
- Act as a role model to the young people, continually pushing for the highest standards.
- Provide trauma‑informed support, understanding people’s backgrounds and championing diversity and inclusion.
- Assist with a range of activities: helping a young person move and settle into a new home, safety planning to reduce harm, securing employment or training placements, supporting independent living skills, and obtaining refugee status.
Requirements:
- Patient, kind, resilient and professional, with a calm and caring approach.
- Contracted staff only. Business mileage at 45p per mile paid for any daily miles over the distance from your home to the allocated workplace location and back.
- Must have a well‑maintained vehicle with valid tax, MOT and insurance covering business use.
