Are you looking for a role with autonomy and variety whilst making a difference in families' lives? This exciting opportunity is for an experienced Family Support Practitioner to join our Family Services team based in Yate, serving South Gloucestershire. The position is part‑time, with 12 hours a week split across Tuesday and Friday.
Your role will involve supporting families to achieve their goals through Positive Parenting Programmes, Family Support and community groups. You will build relationships with the families you support, and with our network of partner agencies. Your organisational and time‑keeping skills should be strong, as you will be managing a busy caseload. No two working days will ever be the same.
As a Family Support Practitioner in South Gloucestershire, you will work with vulnerable families through parenting programmes to establish routines and structures, role‑model positive interactions, guide healthy lifestyles and collaborate with other professionals to offer a holistic approach. You will support a caseload of families to ensure the needs of the child, young person or family are met. You will have worked in this role previously or have transferrable skills from other positions. Your personal values and experiences will enrich your ability to support.
This is an incredible opportunity to lead on relevant projects within the team to match your subject matter expertise. The service operates primarily between Monday and Friday and we embrace flexible working practices to allow applicants to meet a healthy work‑life balance. You will be providing support through visiting people in their own homes, working in schools or other community settings. You will be required to travel within your designated area of work; therefore a full driver’s licence and your own transport are essential.

- Pay: £7,862.40 per year (£24,570 FTE).

Annual Leave entitlement will be pro‑rata for Part‑time staff. Working on public holidays due to a rota pattern will be compensated with time off in lieu. Business mileage (45p a mile) is paid for any daily miles over and above the distance from your home to the allocated workplace location and back. You'll need a well‑maintained vehicle with valid tax, MOT and Insurance covering business use.
