HIAB is taking a strategic step to strengthen its on-site IT capabilities by appointing dedicated ICT specialists at its most critical and high-impact locations. We are seeking a Country IT Coordinator to lead local IT operations, support end users, and ensure infrastructure reliability in close collaboration with our global and outsourced teams. This role offers a dynamic and international working environment where your contributions will directly enhance the digital experience of our employees. This position will be based in Ellesmere, UK.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • End User Service and Support: Provide onsite assistance for the Global Service Desk and application teams as a 2nd/3rd level support. Track and resolve incidents, requests, and tasks for your responsible locations and services. Keep the Knowledge base current, proposing improvements based on user feedback.
  • Infrastructure and Governance: Maintain CMDB data and documentation on infrastructure. Assist as part of HIAB IT Support Model. Align business needs with vendors, ensuring compliance with Technical Standards, Security Policies, ITIL best practices, and global processes. Transfer knowledge from application owners to global documentation and CMDB, actively participating in CMDB improvement projects. Manage local internet service providers and mobile carriers. Be available to work outside regular hours as per local legislation.
  • Project Management and Service Coordination: Participate as a technical specialist in global and regional projects like service deployments, office moves, acquisitions, and divestments. Attend governance meetings to represent your areas of responsibility. Review local invoices and handle peripheral procurement.
  • VOIP and Mobile Device Management: Support telephony, VoIP, and mobile devices, including procurement, subscription management, and lifecycle management of contracts with providers (including renewal negotiations), with approval from local business and line managers.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Diploma in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in technical IT support roles.
  • Knowledge of Windows desktop computing (MacOS is a plus).
  • Experience with Microsoft server and infrastructure management.
  • Knowledge of tablets, mobile phones, and telephony (fixed and VoIP).
  • Understanding of network infrastructure management.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework.
  • Experience working in a global organization is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy towards end-users and a helpful attitude.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
