Join to apply for the Road Freight Operator role at cargo-partner. We are looking for an experienced Road Freight Operator to join our Basildon branch. You will be responsible within a team to coordinate and organise the full range of road freight services such as bookings, pricing, import/export clearance, and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities:
- Loading bookings into the Ondot system
- Seeking the most cost effective domestic collection/delivery costs and booking with EU hauliers and pallet networks
- Completing export and import customs entries
- Completing export T1 documents
- Building export groupage trailers and completing export documentation
- Liaising with the warehouse regarding the loading/unloading of trailers, labelling and cargo discrepancies
- Liaising with cargo-partner in Europe regarding customs clearances, deliveries, collections and discrepancies
- Providing shipment updates to clients
- Requesting and providing PODs
- Negotiating costs with suppliers
- Preparing each shipment/file for invoicing
Desired skills:
- At least 1 year’s experience working in a similar Road Operations role
- Knowledge of import/export procedures
- Strong customer-facing and interaction skills with high level of customer orientation
- Team engagement and support
- The desire to progress within an international company
- The ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
