Location: Mini Distribution Centre (MDC) - Rochester and Romford

Job Summary

Working as part of the Supply Chain leadership team across two Mini Distribution Centres (MDCs) (Rochester and Romford), you’ll lead a team to deliver and maintain excellent customer service. This role is critical to the ongoing success of our Supply Chain, and you’ll play a key part in enabling Team Members to realise their full potential and performance, leading and overseeing the day to day activities, to ensure products are available at all times to enable us to serve customers. You will also lead First Line Managers who will have responsibility for some team members.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Inspire and engage, acting as a role model for your direct team and MDC team in terms of standards, behaviours and performance whilst motivating and managing all employees fairly and consistently to maintain and improve employee engagement.
  • Coach and develop your team and encourage and foster a high performance culture.
  • Partner closely with the Autoglass® Operations Managers for your area, building an effective relationship through collaboration and sharing best practice.
  • Manage the relationship with Wholesale customers, providing excellent service and using influencing and negotiation skills to maximise sales and opportunities.
  • Build relationships with the wider Supply Chain Leadership team to share best practice and foster an environment of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Ensure deliveries are on time and efficient through logistic planning and route optimisation.
  • Ensure your team are fully aware and trained in the required processes.
  • Manage your budgeted headcount and take ownership and manage your recruitment needs and ensure successful on-boarding.
  • Create and maintain an environment that puts health, wellbeing and safety at the forefront, leading and challenging in Health & Safety practice, ensuring the highest standards and awareness at all times, and creating a culture of zero harm.
  • Cascade key Company messages to your team on a regular basis.
  • Embrace and be open to change through continuous improvements, building a high level of commitment in colleagues to achieve year on year improvements in all key areas.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures records are up to date.
  • Manage and maintain Site, Fleet, SHE and MHE within your span of control, ensuring regular checks are carried out for optimum performance and safety.
  • Manage your teams data on Workday HRIS, carry out data audits and encourage self-audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Recognise and celebrate success within your teams, informally and by using internal recognition systems.
  • Carry out effective and engaging checkpoint conversations covering wellbeing, current performance, future expectations, goals and objectives and career conversations.
  • Carry out all performance related activities for your team.
  • Embed corporate social responsibility (CSR) into yours and your teams’ ways of working.
  • Support all opportunities to increase sales and develop the business of Belron UK Ltd, whilst supporting effective cost management and enhancing customer service.
  • Champion the Gemba Kaizen philosophy of improving processes and reducing waste.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Qualification in Health & Safety e.g., IOSH min requisite.
  • Proven experience of managing in Logistics / Supply Chain.
  • Knowledge of in-house systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and presentation skills.
  • People Leadership and experience of managing people processes.
  • Excellent communication skills including influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to drive results through engaging with their people.
  • Be able to build strong and credible relationships not only with own team but with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, to use coaching skills when dealing with the team to maximise performance and development.
  • Experience of change management (desirable).
  • Agile and flexible mindset with ability to identify potential problems and seek resolution through positive proactive action.

Scale of the role

Responsible for a team of up to 30 with between 12 and 24 direct reports and First Line Manager/s site dependent.
