Job Purpose and Impact
The Process Safety Engineer will be responsible to provide technical expertise in developing process safety capabilities to ensure safe and effective operation of the plant. In this role, you will contribute to deliver/implement process safety programs, practices, tools, trainings, and assessments for the related disciplines, aligned to the organization's practices and procedures.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide technical support to a domain area required for standard operations as well as projects.
- Provide guidance to complex operations, implementing solutions to improve process safety and reliability.
- Partner with and provide guidance to cross functional teams to implement tools and methodologies that will enable best practices related to process safety.
- Responsible for completing the Process risk assessments (PRAs) and relevant actions as per schedule.
- Coordinate with multi disciplined teams to provide process safety input for management of change (MoC) process, process safety related incident investigation, risk assessments, LoPAs etc.
- Implement accountability measures, reporting mechanisms and corporate benchmark metrics to enforce effective utilization and integrity of automated tools and systems.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience of working in a Manufacturing environment in a Process Safety Engineering position.
- Related work experience with process risk analysis, risk assessment, hazard studies, root cause analysis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in engineering, technical operations, process safety management.
- Knowledge and understanding of industry leading practices in process safety management.
