Job Purpose and Impact

The Capital Engineering Manager will use general business knowledge to plan, organize and control resources, procedures and timing for an administrative or business project. We seek a detail-oriented professional with the interpersonal skills to organize our project teams, assign individual responsibilities, develop project schedules and resolve resource requirements. In this role, you will conduct engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments, with seven direct reports.

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify and gather the resources necessary to complete projects.
  • Help resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
  • Monitor progress and performance to meet the project plan goals.
  • Collaborate with senior partners to ensure project meets requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost.
  • Help coordinate project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, people management and troubleshooting for engineering projects.
  • Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Related work experience from a heavy industrial processing background (e.g. Chemicals, Biofuels).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven supervisory experience, leading and developing a team through clear expectations, coaching, and driving strong performance in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience managing capital or operational projects like Reliability & Asset Integrity, Process Safety & EHS Driven Capital, Automation & Digital, Turnaround & Infrastructure Projects, Process, Yield & Capacity Improvements.
  • A practical, delivery focused capital leader with strong capability in managing risk, complexity and diverse stakeholders within high hazard manufacturing environments.
