Job Objectives & Responsibilities

  • As an E & I Maintenance Technician, you will work as part of the Maintenance team to ensure the reliable operation of the plant assets.
  • Your responsibilities will include providing electrical & instrumentation expertise, carrying out repairs on plant equipment in a timely and efficient manner, and ensuring equipment is safe and fit for purpose.
  • You will be involved in Reactive, Preventative, and Predictive Maintenance as required and propose improvements in maintenance Job Plans & Procedures in keeping with known standards of quality, safety, and hygiene for reliable and consistent operation.
  • Troubleshooting and problem analysis are essential skills, and you will work closely with production areas, effectively communicating to ensure that daily goals are achieved.
  • You will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance of the site's process plant and services, including preparation of equipment for third-party inspection, pump overhauls, pipework installation, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Provide electrical & instrument support to the maintenance department to carry out repairs on all plant equipment and associated equipment in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Complete maintenance work orders generated by SAP.
  • Carry out other support maintenance work when required.
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment on site is both electrically and mechanically safe.
  • Work closely with production when prioritising workload.
  • Generate pre-job hazard assessment and risk assessment to obtain safety permits when required.
  • Provide feedback and improvement ideas on the SAP system.

Qualifications:

  • Served a recognised Electrical & Instrumentation Apprenticeship.
  • HNC/NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification in electrical/instrumentation/control engineering.
  • Good knowledge and practice of Wiring Regulations.
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably SAP.
  • Work and practical knowledge of inverters, soft starts, 3 phase motors, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Work and practical knowledge of measuring instrumentation and associated communication protocols (Profibus/Digital/Conventional).
  • Good knowledge of mechanical maintenance and preferably some knowledge of chemical plant.
  • Committed to continuous development.
  • Commitment to health and safety procedures, risk systems, permit to work procedures, and condition auditing.
  • Experience with Beamex CMX and calibrations.
  • Experience of pressure, vacuum, and temperature control systems.
  • Experience with control valves and RAV's.
  • Ideally Compex 01-04 and 05-06 qualifications.
  • 17th Edition.
