Job Objectives & Responsibilities
As an E & I Maintenance Technician, you will work as part of the Maintenance team to ensure the reliable operation of the plant assets. Your responsibilities will include providing electrical & instrumentation expertise, carrying out repairs on plant equipment in a timely and efficient manner, and ensuring equipment is safe and fit for purpose. You will be involved in Reactive, Preventative, and Predictive Maintenance as required and propose improvements in maintenance Job Plans & Procedures in keeping with known standards of quality, safety, and hygiene for reliable and consistent operation. Trouble shooting and problem analysis are essential skills, and you will work closely with production areas, effectively communicating to ensure that daily goals are achieved.
You will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance of the site's process plant and services, including preparation of equipment for third-party inspection, pump overhauls, pipework installation, and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Provide electrical & instrument support to the maintenance department to carry out repairs on all plant equipment and associated equipment in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
- Complete maintenance work orders generated by SAP.
- Carry out other support maintenance work when required.
- Ensure all machinery and equipment on site is both electrically and mechanically safe.
- Work closely with production when prioritising workload.
- Generate pre-job hazard assessment and risk assessment to obtain safety permits when required.
- Provide feedback and improvement ideas on the SAP system.
Qualifications:
- Served a recognised Electrical & Instrumentation Apprenticeship.
- HNC/NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification in electrical/instrumentation/control engineering.
- Good knowledge and practice of Wiring Regulations.
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably SAP.
- Work and practical knowledge of inverters, soft starts, 3 phase motors, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's).
- Work and practical knowledge of measuring instrumentation and associated communication protocols (Profibus/Digital/Conventional).
- Good knowledge of mechanical maintenance and preferably some knowledge of chemical plant.
- Committed to continuous development.
- Commitment to health and safety procedures, risk systems, permit to work procedures, and condition auditing.
- Experience with Beamex CMX and calibrations.
- Experience of pressure, vacuum, and temperature control systems.
- Experience with control valves and RAV's.
- Ideally Compex 01-04 and 05-06 qualifications.
- 17th Edition.
