Job Purpose and Impact
The Insurance Associate will be responsible for developing and cultivating new and existing internal and external relationships. In this role, you will apply substantial knowledge of and experience with insurance products to ensure successful marketing and placement of transactions generated by the Trade and Capital Markets Group and wider Cargill. You will also participate in generating innovation ideas and developing new product strategies.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage single buyer insurance policies
- Foster our broker and insurance relationships
- Partner collaboratively to explore new and ongoing commercial opportunities with traders
- Analysing and understanding financial profiles of sovereigns, financial institutions and corporates in assigned geo markets
- Preparing and collating information for marketing of transactions and communicating feedback from the insurance market internally
- Providing timely insights on key market developments, products and structures
- Contribute to generate innovation ideas and develop new product strategies
- Independently handle complex transactions with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues when appropriate
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Finance, Business, Economics, Law) or equivalent experience
More than 5 years underwriting experience in Political Risk and Credit Insurance
Required Skills
- Good understanding of letters of credit/standby letters of credit, guarantees, receivable financing, structured trade finance, loan syndications
- Good understanding and knowledge of Political Risk and Credit Insurance policy wordings and terms
- Knowledge of funded solutions
- Strong communication and presentation skills – both written and verbal
- Ability to make sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
