This position is in Cargill’s animal nutrition and health business, where we improve animal lives through better nutrition. Our team researches, innovates and creates solutions that deliver healthy results for our customers.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Quality Assurance Assistant will Support the FSQR manager in the daily duties in order to ensure compliance is aligned to regulatory, accreditation, Cargill feed safety standards and customer requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the management and maintanance of the testing surveillance program, including interpretation of result and addressing non-conformance
  • Supporting production in the assessment and positive release of raw materials
  • Providing relavant data for KPI reporting
  • Assist in investigation relating to non-conformance and customer complaints, applying root cause analysis, implementing and monitoring preventive actions
  • Act as Deputy for the FSQR Manager
  • Promote food or product safety awareness across the factory to develop the competencies of plant professionals and assist others in topics related to food or product safety, hazard analysis and critical control points
  • Assist others on topics related to food or product safety by training, coaching and mentoring new team members on food or product safety procedures
  • Assisting in the updating of specific QMS procedures
  • Assist in the completion of internal and external, safety and quality audits including closing gaps in production and maintenance across a location with moderate complexity and identify and proactively address basic risk areas
  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor\’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Microsoft applications & SAP
  • Demonstrated work experience in a Laboratory (working with NIR, Mycotoxin testing equipment)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in food manufacturing
  • Ideally experience in third party audits e.g UFAS, VDM, Local authority etc.
