About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Vehicle Technician to join our professional workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician looking for a stable Monday–Friday role with no weekend work. As a Senior Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, and supporting other team members to maintain high workshop standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out advanced diagnostics and fault finding, whilst being competent in using up to date diagnostic scan tools, such as ISTA, Xentry, VCDS, Launch etc.
- Perform complex mechanical and electrical repairs, including timing belts & chains, wet belts, water pumps, turbo chargers, head gaskets etc.
- Service, repair and rebuild engines, manual & automatic transmissions replacement and rebuilds, replacing clutches, braking systems, exhaust systems, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Work in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct quality checks and road tests to ensure repairs are completed to a high standard.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other mechanics and apprentices.
- Support workshop efficiency and productivity.
- Have own set of tools, maintain workshop tools and equipment in good working order.
- Stay up to date with latest vehicle technologies and industry developments.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician.
- Proven experience in diagnostics and complex repairs.
- Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of modern vehicle systems (hybrid/EV experience desirable).
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
