Weβre looking for a Concrete Operative to assist in all aspects of concrete works including preparation, pouring and basic finishing, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
What you will be doing:
- Assist with site preparation, including cleaning work areas and setting up formwork.
- Help arrange reinforcement and ensure materials are ready for pouring.
- Check tools and equipment are in safe working order before use.
- Support mixing, pouring and spreading concrete under supervision.
- Operate basic hand tools (e.g. shovels, trowels, screeds) safely.
- Apply curing methods such as water or compounds as directed.
- Ensure concrete surfaces meet basic finish standards and project specifications.
- Report any defects or irregularities immediately to the Supervisors.
- Follow all health & safety protocols, including correct PPE usage.
- Report hazards, defects and near misses promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to prevent accidents.
- Work closely with other operatives and trades to ensure smooth workflow.
- Take direction from supervisors and contribute to team productivity.
What you will bring:
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Experience in concrete works or general construction.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Understanding of health & safety requirements.
- Physically fit and able to work in outdoor conditions.
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Concrete Occupations.
