We’re looking for a Concrete Operative to assist in all aspects of concrete works including preparation, pouring and basic finishing, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications.

What you will be doing:

  • Assist with site preparation, including cleaning work areas and setting up formwork.
  • Help arrange reinforcement and ensure materials are ready for pouring.
  • Check tools and equipment are in safe working order before use.
  • Support mixing, pouring and spreading concrete under supervision.
  • Operate basic hand tools (e.g. shovels, trowels, screeds) safely.
  • Apply curing methods such as water or compounds as directed.
  • Ensure concrete surfaces meet basic finish standards and project specifications.
  • Report any defects or irregularities immediately to the Supervisors.
  • Follow all health & safety protocols, including correct PPE usage.
  • Report hazards, defects and near misses promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area to prevent accidents.
  • Work closely with other operatives and trades to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Take direction from supervisors and contribute to team productivity.

What you will bring:

  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • Experience in concrete works or general construction.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Understanding of health & safety requirements.
  • Physically fit and able to work in outdoor conditions.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Concrete Occupations.
  • Experience with basic finishing techniques.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Familiarity with site tools and equipment.
