Experience: At least one year working in a professional or corporate environment designing, building or maintaining technology enabled solutions. We are seeking a Knowledge Solutions Engineer in London office who will work closely with the Senior Knowledge Solutions Engineer, the Group Director of Knowledge and Learning, and colleagues across Knowledge, Technology and legal teams to design, build and maintain technology‑enabled knowledge solutions. The role focuses on creating practical, scalable, user‑friendly tools that improve access to legal know‑how, data and technology across the firm. You will play a key role in translating business and practice‑group requirements into workable solutions that support efficient, modern legal service delivery.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Converting legal drafting requirements into clear automation logic and specifications, even where requirements may be incomplete or ambiguous.
- Building, maintaining and testing document automation templates to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Configuring, supporting and maintaining workflow tools and structured knowledge solutions.
- Identifying process gaps, bottlenecks and repetitive tasks to help design efficient digital workflows.
- Troubleshooting issues and supporting continuous improvement of existing tools and solutions.
- Testing GenAI use cases for legal work and maintaining prompt libraries, guidance and guardrails.
- Supporting responsible AI adoption by providing practical examples, guidance and user support.
- Maintaining dashboards and reporting to track usage, adoption and tool performance.
- Analysing usage data to inform updates, enhancements and broader roll‑outs.
- Supporting pilots of new legal technology, gathering user feedback and turning insights into recommendations.
- Contributing to continuous improvement through experimentation, testing and data‑driven insights.
- Keeping up-to-date with developments in legal technology and applying new learning to the firm’s solutions.
- Supporting training and innovation initiatives with clear, practical guidance and materials.
Candidate Profile
We’re looking for someone who is curious, adaptable and excited about improving how legal work is delivered. The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical interest, problem‑solving ability and strong communication skills. You should bring:
- Familiarity with document automation platforms (e.g. Avvoka, Contract Express, HotDocs, Docassemble).
- A basic understanding of workflow or no‑code/low‑code tools (e.g. Power Automate, n8n, Zapier, Make).
- Confidence working with spreadsheets and structured data; experience with Excel, Power Query, SQL or Power BI is a plus.
- Basic understanding of how systems integrate and exchange data (APIs, connectors, webhooks, etc.).
- (Optional) Familiarity with development environments or version control (VS Code, Cursor, Git/GitHub).
