Description Careys Plant & Fleet is a support division of the Carey Group, a family-owned civil engineering and dry-lining company with over 50 years of experience. The division supplies plant, vehicles, and equipment to Careys’ construction projects across the UK. As a Yard Operative, you\’ll be based at the Plant Yard, preparing and maintaining equipment for site use. Your duties will include inspecting and cleaning equipment, jet washing, learning spray painting techniques, checking for serviceability, basic repairs, counting items returned from sites, preparing orders, and general manual handling tasks. Key Responsibilities Adhere to current health and safety legislation and carry out any necessary health and safety training. Carry out checks and inspections of equipment to ensure it is in good working order. Assist with cleaning, repairs and servicing of equipment where required. Ensure that everything that is dispatched is serviceable and fit for purpose. Accurately counting equipment back into the yard when it is returned. Getting orders ready from pick lists provided to you by the Yard Supervisor Cleaning equipment using a water jet wash. Paint spraying items of equipment and maintaining the spraying tools. Always maintain good housekeeping in the yard and workshop. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Attention to detail.
