We’re looking for experienced Steelfixers to join our team in West Cumbria. You’ll be working on major reinforced concrete structures, installing steel reinforcement safely, accurately and to specification. If you know your way around drawings, bar schedules and reinforcement layouts — and you take pride in solid, reliable work — we want to hear from you.
What you will be doing:
- Reading and working from reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules
- Setting out steel, checking quantities, and preparing work areas
- Fixing rebar, links, cages and mesh to specification
- Using spacers and chairs to maintain correct cover
- Assembling reinforcement cages and tying all steel securely
- Reporting issues, clashes or missing steel to supervision
- Working safely around formwork, lifts, concrete gangs and other trades
- Maintaining good housekeeping and following site safety rules
What we are looking for:
- Valid CSCS card
- Previous steelfixing / reinforcement experience
- Ability to read drawings and follow instructions
- Strong focus on Health & Safety
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors
- NVQ Level 2 in Steelfixing / RC Occupations
- First Aid or slinging/signalling experience
- Experience on large RC structures or major civils projects
