We are seeking a capable and motivated Design Manager to join our Work Winning team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an individual who is progressing in their design management career and is ready to take on broader responsibility within a supportive and high-performing environment.

You will play a key role in coordinating and managing the design process across both tender and live project stages, ensuring that design solutions are safe, compliant, cost-effective and buildable. This position is well suited to someone who is not yet at a senior level but is keen to develop, take ownership, and build their experience across complex construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the coordination and management of the design process from pre-construction through to delivery
  • Assist in developing and maintaining design programmes aligned with project requirements
  • Coordinate internal and external design teams to ensure timely and accurate information flow
  • Review drawings and technical submissions, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Contribute to buildability and value engineering discussions
  • Manage design queries, RFIs and information requirements
  • Support consultant appointments and scope definition
  • Contribute to tender submissions, including methodology and programme input
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We are looking for an individual with a solid foundation in construction design who is keen to develop further within a structured and supportive environment. You are likely to:

  • Have experience in a design coordination or early design management role within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure
  • Possess a good understanding of construction methods and engineering principles
  • Be confident in reviewing drawings and engaging with technical information
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills
  • Be proactive, reliable and comfortable taking ownership of your work
  • Show a willingness to learn, develop and seek continuous improvement
  • Experience of BIM, CDM regulations or formal design processes would be advantageous, but is not essential.
