We’re looking for a motivated and detail‑driven Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your QS career while working on high‑profile construction and infrastructure projects alongside experienced commercial professionals.
What you will be doing:
- Support stakeholder engagement, attending client and design team meetings as required.
- Assist with cost/value reporting, monthly valuations, financial statements, and progress documentation.
- Help prepare management reports, record drawings, progress photos, and material schedules for monthly applications.
- Support change management, including re‑measurement, variation tracking, and contribution to estimates and cost plans.
- Assist with subcontract procurement: sending enquiries, analysing quotes, preparing orders, and maintaining procurement schedules.
- Help administer subcontractor packages, monitor progress, issue payment notices, and measure works under re‑measurable contracts.
- Maintain contractual compliance, support lessons‑learned activity, and contribute to post‑contract reviews.
- Work collaboratively with QSs and the wider team, following instructions and promoting high HSE awareness.
- Contribute to training workshops and support continuous improvement across commercial processes.
- Carry out additional tasks as required by your manager, helping ensure smooth commercial delivery.
What you will bring:
- Strong numeracy and measurement skills with an analytical, detail‑focused mindset.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational ability and time management.
- Basic Excel skills and confidence working with data.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (or working towards) OR ONC/HND in a related discipline.
- Driving licence (essential); CSCS card desirable.
