Careys are recruiting experienced Formwork Carpenters / Shuttering Joiners to join our team on a major civil engineering project in Sheffield (S9). You will support the construction of reinforced concrete structures including foundations, retaining walls, slabs, columns and associated civils works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct, install and dismantle formwork systems for reinforced concrete structures in accordance with drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure formwork is built accurately and to the required tolerances.
  • Work alongside steel fixers and concrete gangs to prepare structures for concrete pours.
  • Inspect and maintain formwork systems to ensure they remain safe, secure and fit for purpose.
  • Support the delivery of major civil engineering works by producing high-quality formwork while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • CSCS Blue or Gold Skilled Worker Card
  • Proven experience in formwork carpentry on civil engineering projects
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience with traditional and proprietary formwork systems
  • Strong understanding of site safety requirements

Desirable:

  • Doka Formwork Systems
  • Peri Formwork Systems
  • Reinforced concrete structures
  • Rebar and concrete operations
  • Major infrastructure or industrial civils projects
