Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Participate in the day-to-day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment
  • Maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality
  • Support service users with the preparation of meals, laundry duties, cleaning and social events
  • Maintain accurate notes and records as required
  • Work as part of a team to provide high-quality care
  • Personal care support
  • Support with community-based activities

Personal Characteristics:

  • Diploma (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards one
  • Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues
  • The ability to keep calm under pressure
  • The confidence to work alone or as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The passion to work with vulnerable adults
  • The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding
  • Driver preferred
  • Working knowledge of PBS approach
  • Self-motivated to support service users in planning their activities within the community as well as at home
