We are recruiting a part time weekend Support Worker to join our service in Mildred Avenue, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. About the Service – Mildred

Mildred Avenue is a Supported Living service for 6 individuals with complex needs. Currently supporting 3 males and 3 females. The service is designed to support them with complex needs to move to a person-centred supported living environment within Hertfordshire. The Service will provide tailored support around the individuals’ needs, working with them to help develop their daily living skills, confidence and choice making skills. Promoting partnership working to ensure they receive the correct level of support to help them manage their emotions and behaviours in a positive manner. Individuals will receive support to enable them to access a range of community-based opportunities of their choice and encourage them to work towards greater independence for the future.

There is free parking for staff and visitors and is clean internally. The service is a brick built building and offers a large garden and patio area. There are excellent transport links for staff to get to The Avenue to include 3 train stations and buses. The closest train station and bus stop is a 5 minute walk from the service.

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences.

The Role

  • Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
  • Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
  • Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
  • Support activities, appointments, and community access
  • Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
  • Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable. No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.

Requirements

  • Willingness to work towards level 2 diploma
  • Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
  • Drivers desirable but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
