We are looking for individuals to support our young people in a residential home setting in Mid Devon. These individuals are profoundly deaf and need support in their day-to-day life. All of the young adults use British Sign Language to communicate, and all communication is supported by AAC devices and visual imagery. Some knowledge of BSL is desired; courses would be offered in line with current experience and qualifications.

Specialist equipment and facilities are provided to support the challenges faced with sensory loss, such as specialist fire systems, vibrating pads, access to a minicom, and internet connection for FaceTime or Skype. As part of the team, you will be working closely with other local organisations and services to offer a wide choice of activities, hobbies, educational input, and support to attend Deaf events and integration into the Deaf community, as well as the day-to-day running of the home and supporting the residential daily needs.

We are looking for passionate and creative individuals to join our longstanding team and continue to provide outstanding care to our young people. You will be supported by a dedicated core team and on-job training. Requirements for DBS and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice.
