Extraordinary Days Every Day
At Spark of Genius, you’re not just working - you’re shaping futures. As a Support Worker, every moment you spend with our young people helps them feel safe, valued and supported. A simple "How was your day?", a shared laugh over a board game or encouragement during a tough moment - these small interactions build trust and shape lives. Some days will be challenging but every breakthrough, every smile and every step forward will remind you why this work truly matters.
What You’ll Do
- Support young people with their daily routines; getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities.
- Ensure our children receive the highest level of support.
- Support senior staff with timely updates.
- Promote individuality, not a "one size fits all" approach.
- Complete and update care plans regularly, updating with any additional requirements.
- Be part of a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping.
- Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
- Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects.
New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.
A Little About This Home
Oaklea is a safe, nurturing environment where young people can heal, grow and begin to thrive. What makes our home unique and inviting isn’t just the physical space, but the warmth, compassion and consistency that fill it. Every room is designed to feel like home, with familiar comforts, personalised touches and spaces that promote both independence and connection.
The young people we support are the heart of everything we do. They come to us with unique experiences, strengths and aspirations. Many have faced significant challenges, yet they show incredible resilience and courage every day. We see beyond their trauma - we see their creativity, their dreams and their ability to thrive when given the right support.
Collaboration is at the heart of how we work. We communicate openly, support each other through challenges and celebrate the small victories that matter so much. Whether it’s a quiet conversation after a tough day or a team debrief to reflect and improve, we stand together - and our ability to lift each other up, just as we lift our young people in our care.
