At Cambian Group, you’re not just working - you’re shaping futures. As a Residential Care Worker, based within South West, every moment you spend with our young people (ages 8–18) helps them feel safe, valued and supported. A simple "How was your day?", a shared laugh over a board game or encouragement during a tough moment - these small interactions build trust and shape lives. Some days will be challenging but every breakthrough, every smile and every step forward will remind you why this work truly matters.
What You’ll Do
- Support young people with their daily routines; getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities.
- Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping.
- Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
- Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects.
- Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.
Where You’ll Do It
We care and support children within a residential home who have experienced significant trauma, child sexual exploitation or who are at risk of being exploited. We help the children learn vital skills to keep themselves safe and to make good decisions. We support the children to experience childhood experiences, education, good health and more all whilst building positive relationships and supporting them to grow into young adults ready for the next chapter of their journey whether that be semi-independence or returning to their family home.
Our home is a beautiful farmhouse in a rural area situated between Bridgwater and Taunton. We have the capacity to have 5 children living here at one time. We have a lovely outside space where we can utilise for BBQs, pool parties and activities. Each room has its own unique homely feel which has been contributed by the children to ensure it reflects what they want their home to be.
We currently have 3 children living in the home all with different needs as well as ages. This means that no two days are the same. The children love anything that gets the heart pumping so we love to utilise this within activities as this supports them in feeling adrenaline without being at risk.
