At Cambian, you’re not just working - you’re shaping futures. As a Residential Team Leader based within the Manchester region, every moment you spend with our young people (ages 8–18) helps them feel safe, valued and supported. A simple "How was your day?", a shared laugh over a board game or encouragement during a tough moment - these small interactions build trust and shape lives. Some days will be challenging but every breakthrough, every smile and every step forward will remind you why this work truly matters.

What You’ll Do

  • Support young people with their daily routines; getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities.
  • Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping.
  • Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
  • Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects.
  • Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.

Where You’ll Do It

The home is a dual home, which means 2 children can live there, with 2 staff being on shift each day too. It’s a detached home with a large front garden and back garden with parks close by. The home is decorated well throughout. At the moment the home is closed and the plan is to recruit a full staff team before opening the home to referrals. This gives us a unique opportunity to start from scratch almost and make the home how we want it.

At the moment the team members we do have are working in other homes to build some experience before coming together in our home when we have a full team. That means each staff member can bring something to the home which they may have learned from working in other homes. We support each other, and we come together to support our young people too. We take the young people on activities, holidays, and support them with any needs they may have. This could be by helping them keep their bedroom tidy, completing support sessions on personal hygiene and taking them to health appointments. It’s all about being a positive role model.

Shift patterns tend to be a 24-hour shift, starting and finishing at 10am (including an overnight sleep) and then two days off, working 10 or 11 shifts per month.
