About the job

To allow us to provide these children with a better path ahead we are seeking people who have a good understanding of the difficulties and challenges that children may face and have the confidence and ability to support them to recover, grow and flourish.

We provide children a safe and nurturing environment within our services and we need caring and compassionate individuals who can demonstrate these attributes within a challenging yet immensely rewarding role.

What we look for

  • A driving licence (not a car) is required for this role, along with that you will ideally possess:
  • Experience of working with children and/or families or have you supported a younger friend or relative
  • A sound understanding of the developmental needs and milestones for children and young people
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with and form positive relationships with our children and young people
  • Ability to produce clear and concise written reports and records to a good standard
  • The ability to keep calm under pressure, be patient and to want to go home each day knowing you made a difference

Benefits

  • To support you in this role, we provide a range of specialist training programmes and invest in your professional development.
  • We provide a comprehensive induction programme and support people to achieve professional qualifications where required. This can be a HNC in Social Care, SVQ level 3 in Care or an equivalent qualification.
  • £12.65 to £12.85 per hour PLUS £67.50 for each sleep-in you do, full time staff can expect up to 10 per month
  • £500 Welcome to the Team bonus (paid after probation)
  • £1000 Refer A Friend scheme if you know someone who would make a good support worker
  • Our employees have access to an employee assistance programme and pension scheme.

Due to the nature of the role, it will be necessary for all Residential Childcare Workers to be subject to a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check by Disclosure Scotland and achieve membership of the scheme prior to commencing work with us.
