We are looking for a dedicated Residential Childcare Worker to join our team in Newmarket, providing high-quality care and support for children and young people in a residential setting. This role is pivotal in ensuring their safety, security, and emotional well-being throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people overnight.
  • Support their emotional, physical, and mental well-being, responding to any concerns or needs during the night.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure the safety of the children and the home.
  • Record accurate, detailed notes of events, incidents, and observations during the shift.
  • Assist with the morning routine, including preparing for school or daily activities.
  • Ensure the home remains clean and organized overnight.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience in working with children or young people in a care setting (preferred but not essential – full training provided).
  • A caring and empathetic approach, with excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • A proactive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures (training can be provided).
  • Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays.
Requirements:
  • A valid UK driving license is advantageous but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (or willingness to undergo one).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards this qualification).
