Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Hours: 37 hours per week, term time, 1 year fixed term contract.
We are looking to appoint a passionate and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our growing school. Netherlea School is managed within the Applied Care and Development (ACAD) organisation, which is a subsidiary of the proprietor, CareTech Community Services Ltd. It is an all-through independent special school, located in Dumfries. The school supports children and young people who have faced significant disruption to their learning as a result of social, emotional and behavioural needs, autistic spectrum disorder or learning difficulties. The school registration is for up to 16 children and young people between the ages of 8 years old and 18 years old.
As a HLTA you will:
- Monitor and promote a high quality of relationships between staff team and students.
- Work alongside TAs at various times to maintain an awareness of the quality of learning support provided, ensuring that it is carried out under the direction and guidance of teachers and that any areas for improvement are addressed.
- Observe student performance, contribute to reports and maintain records as required, ensuring that confidentiality is maintained.
- Contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning activities and progress.
