About the Service – Beech Care
Beech care is situated in a quiet residential area of New Romney and is within easy reach of the amenities. Beech Care is a bungalow, a residential service supporting service users with physical disabilities and learning disabilities. The service users enjoy visiting the local amenities, having a stroll down to the beach, going swimming, bowling, and going out for meals and picnics. The kitchen has been adapted with easy access for the service users to do cooking/baking. Beech care has its own sensory room for the service users to enjoy relaxing music and lights.
Beech Care currently supports 5 service users (4 female and 1 male), who need support with physical disabilities.
- To supervise and lead a team of support workers to enable our service users to lead as fulfilling and satisfying a life as they possibly can.
- To act as a role model for staff, so that they are encouraged to understand the people you are supporting.
- To participate in the day-to-day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.
- To work as part of a team to provide high quality care.
You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is essential.
- Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.
- Confidence to work alone and as part of a team.
- The passion to work with vulnerable adults.
- The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
