At CareTech, we are committed to delivering Extraordinary Days, Every Day through high-quality, person-centred care. Our focus is on empowering independence, building confidence and life skills, and supporting people to live fulfilling lives in environments that best suit their needs.

We are recruiting for Support Workers to join our services in Cheltenham supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. Whether you’re new to care or experienced, this is an opportunity to build a rewarding, long-term career - and truly make a difference!

About the Service – Cragside House

Cragside House is a small, friendly supported living service with a strong focus on independence, routine, and meaningful activities. We are looking for kind, energetic and down-to-earth Support Workers to join us from the very start.

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

  • Swimming
  • Skittles and leisure activities
  • Going out shopping
  • Spending time in the community

The best part is that everything is within walking distance, so this is a really hands-on, active role — not one where you’re stuck indoors all day.

Support is provided 24 hours a day, including day shifts and waking night shifts.

The Role

You will:

  • Build positive, trusting relationships
  • Support people with daily living and personal goals
  • Encourage independence and choice
  • Support individuals to access activities they enjoy
  • Work in line with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • Support with health needs and medication (full training provided)

This is a role where you really get to know the people you support and see the difference you make every day.

Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.

Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.

Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.

Support activities, appointments, and community access.

Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.

Work on a rota.

Requirements

  • Ability to work days, evenings, alternative weekends and bank holidays
  • Experience of supporting adults with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs
  • Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
