Cragside House is a small, friendly supported living service with a strong focus on independence, routine, and meaningful activities. We are looking for kind, energetic and down-to-earth Support Workers to join us from the very start.
The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:
- Spending time in the community
Support is provided 24 hours a day, including day shifts and waking night shifts.
As a Support Worker, you’ll be:
- Building positive, trusting relationships
- Supporting people with daily living and personal goals
- Supporting individuals to access activities they enjoy
- Working in line with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
- Supporting with health needs and medication (full training provided)
This is a role where you really get to know the people you support and see the difference you make every day.
- Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
- Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
- Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
- Support activities, appointments, and community access
- Work on a rota
You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
Ability to work days, evenings, alternative weekends and bank holidays.
Experience of supporting adults with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs.
Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech).
Confidence to work alone and also be part of a team (family).
Experience with autism, epilepsy or challenging behaviour is great, but not essential — attitude matters more than experience.
