As a Registered Manager of this Children's home you will:
- Develop Comprehensive Care Plans: Ensure each young person has a tailored plan that addresses their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
- Complete company induction and personal development plans, retaining a strong team to ensure familiar faces for the young people.
- Foster Consultation: Develop systems to consult young people about the care they receive.
- Assign a Key Worker to each young person to implement their childcare plan.
- Establish and monitor high-quality care standards in line with National Minimum Standards and the Home’s Statement of Purpose.
- Handle Complaints and Concerns: Take responsibility for addressing any complaints or child protection concerns.
- Work in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to promote the welfare of young people.
- Participate in Meetings: Attend and contribute to child care planning and review meetings as appropriate.
- Ensure the children in your service are cared for at the best possible standard.
Qualifications required include SVQ 4/SQF Level 9 Children and Young People and HNC/Academic equivalent qualification that meets SSSC requirements. You should be working towards remaining SSSC conditions (e.g., Management (PDA), Professional Care qualification (BA Hons Social Care, PDA) with no more than 6 months left to complete.
You must have a wide knowledge of the needs of children and young people and an understanding of various intervention strategies that lead to outcomes supporting their individual care plan. A working knowledge of legislation in relation to child care including National Care Standards, Children (Scotland) Act 1995, and GIRFEC is essential. Understanding the principles of safeguarding and child protection is also necessary.
To apply systems and processes within residential homes that are compliant with the national care standards and in line with the Promise is crucial. A driving license is required.
