Cambian Dilston College consists of our main college building, four cottages, five apartments and a community house in a nearby town of Hexham making up our 9 acre rural campus located in Dilston, Northumberland. The College caters for young people and adults that have additional learning needs and associated complex behaviours that may challenge. We’re now looking to increase the provision of 52 week care placements that can be offered to students.
With this development, we are looking to recruit committed, resilient, empathetic and engaging youth support workers to the team. These support workers will deliver a model of positive behaviour support to empower our young people. We are committed to safeguarding and protecting the young people and service users within our care.
All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference checks. Cambian will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
