Grateley House School is a specialist day school for children and young people aged 11-19 with a diagnosis of autism and other associated needs. We are seeking a dynamic, committed, and innovative educator to take on the role of ICT Teacher. The school delivers the National Curriculum and students are supported to access a range of subjects by experienced subject teachers and teaching assistants, with input from a therapy team. The successful candidate will ensure that our students engage in learning and are equipped with all the tools they need to progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver lessons in Computer Science and ICT, aligned with the National Curriculum across Key Stages 3 – 4, up to GCSE level
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of SEN learners
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their ICT skills
- Foster creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression in students
- Play an active role in the extra-curricular life of the school
- Work effectively within a supporting and high achieving team.
What we are looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience of teaching Computer Science/ICT at KS3 and KS4, and working alongside teaching assistants to ensure the best outcomes for students
- Excellent classroom management skills and a desire to try new strategies to ensure students engage with the subject
- A reflective practitioner who is committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning
- Leadership experience in curriculum development or a similar capacity is desirable
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- A commitment to whole-school values and working collaboratively to support student development
- Experience of working with young people with special educational needs
- A forward-thinking educator with the vision and enthusiasm to help shape the future of ICT/Computer Science education at Grateley House School
