About the Service – Glenroyd
Glenroyd is a registered residential care service made up of 8 bedrooms all with en-suites, supporting adults aged 18+ in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. The ground floor and first floor are accessible by stairs. The rooms in the home for communal use are large, bright and comfortable. There is a T.V and music lounge with ample seating, a dining area/quiet area, fully fitted kitchen, a laundry room and a large garden. There are in addition a communal shower/bathroom on the ground floor and a communal bathroom on the first floor. The home also has an office that is located on the first floor.
The service promotes independence, choice, and wellbeing through tailored, person-centred support.
Service User Interests
The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:
- Arts and crafts
- Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
- Holidays and short breaks
- Walks in the local park and community
- Cooking and baking to develop life skills
The Role
You will:
- Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
- Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
- Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
- Support activities, appointments, and community access
- Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
- Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.
Requirements
- Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care
- Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
- Drivers desirable but not essential
- Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
