CareTech Community Services, established in 1993, is a national provider of support for people with complex and challenging behaviours associated with autism, learning disabilities, mental health illness, and neurological conditions. We support people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and in residential care. We are committed to providing the highest levels of care to our residents.

As the BANK Residential Care Worker, you will be emotionally strong and driven to make a difference day to day. You will get to understand our children and their backgrounds, ensuring that their needs are at the centre of everything we do. You will be approachable and detail-focused, ensuring that our children’s safety is assured at all times, and that all protocols and regulations are fully adhered to.

We believe you will need empathy, compassion, resilience, and positive parenting skills. The working day can be unpredictable, involving organising activities and providing 1:1 support.

We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, flexible, and caring people to join our team to continue improving the lives of the young people within our care. As a Children’s Residential Care Worker, you will be involved in all aspects of their everyday lives, and the positive impact you will have is immeasurable.

Shift Pattern: 16-24 Hour (including Sleep-in) on a one on two off or two on four off basis.

Duties:

  • Delivering the highest quality care for our children
  • Offering guidance, support, and structure to their everyday lives
  • Supporting the young people to engage and access education
  • Promoting a healthy lifestyle and positive living choices
  • Accessing clinically led training to improve your skills and develop practice
  • Household duties
  • Record keeping and report writing
  • Days out (e.g. social events, shopping, cinema, swimming)
  • Contacts, visits, key work meetings, and therapy sessions
  • Providing transport for the young people to access different provisions

Desirable but not essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare
  • Previous experience working in a therapeutic environment or therapeutic qualifications
  • Experience supporting and leading educational engagement
  • Previous leadership skills and qualifications
  • Higher level training and qualifications
