What You’ll Do
- Support young people with their daily routines; getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities.
- Develop a management style that balances the need to exercise control and give direction with the need to offer staff the opportunity to take decisions.
- Take responsibility for planning shifts and ensuring their smooth running when on duty.
- Take a leading role to ensure that each member of staff is aware of each child’s placement plan and their responsibilities for its implementation.
- Attend childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve best outcomes for young people.
- Undertake direct work with young people and act as an appropriate role model.
- Work in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
- Develop in consultation with young people and staff routines in relation to all aspects of child care.
