Everything you do matters. From the moment you open the door and enter one of our services, you become something more than you once were. You enter the place our young people call home, a place where a grin can make a young person’s day, where listening can not only save but shape a life, a place whereby simply turning up on time and being present has a bigger impact than it does anywhere else.

Walking through the door at Cambian means having a direct impact on the futures of the young people in our care. At one of our places, asking “how was school?” is so much more than a throwaway question; it’s stability, it’s paying genuine interest, and listening to the response. It’s a way to break barriers, unlock confidence, and demonstrate that you are here and this is a safe space.

Our Residential Care Workers are fundamental to the development of the young people in our homes. Yes, there will be challenges along the way, there will be lows and highs, but every step forward is a cause for celebration, and a simple “well done” goes a long way!

Our homes accommodate young people aged 8-18 from diverse backgrounds with varying social, emotional, and mental health needs. Our aim is to create the best possible outcomes for them, allowing each to reach their full potential.

The days can be long but… You’ll make a genuine difference daily, ensuring minimal interruption to their lives and filling their days with meaningful interactions that others may take for granted. Your day involves ensuring they are up and ready—whether for school or a morning at the park—making the service feel like “home” by running the hoover, helping with homework, or preparing dinner. Evenings and weekends are for fun—playing video games, board games, or trips to the movies.

There is paperwork and planning, but supporting our young people is never boring. The days may be long, but time flies, and the work truly matters.
