Job Role:
This job description gives an outline of the post and is subject to review in consultation with the post holder. You will be working as part of the Therapy Team providing guidance, active support, plans and coaching to the teams across the division supporting individuals with behaviour that challenges and those impacted by a learning disability, autism, acquired brain injury and/or other mental health challenges.
You will be responsible for the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies that will improve the quality of life and service users' well-being, working with our support teams to reduce restrictive interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, write up and develop positive behaviour support plans that are personalised and meet the needs of those we support, enhancing their choice and independence.
- Demonstrate strong influencing and communication skills, creating a culture that encourages openness and transparency where staff and service users feel fully engaged and empowered to innovate and improve services.
- Model the values of the organisation in all that you do.
- Provide psychology input under qualified psychologist and trainee psychologist supervision to the Care Team and service users, offering specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment within the limits of professional competency and experience.
- Work under supervision within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the Department’s policies and procedures.
- Utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the Department at the qualified requests.

Your development will be assessed using CareTech’s Performance Appraisal Review process. You will have the opportunity to discuss your development needs with your manager on an annual basis, with regular reviews.
