Commercial Finance Director

Job Description:

Job Purpose:

• Lead the Caretech Children’s divisional finance team to support operational teams in achieving financial targets. Oversee the financial performance of the Scottish division.
• Serve as a key leader within the Children\’s Services Division, supporting the Managing Director to ensure budget compliance, evaluate new development opportunities, and enhance commercial awareness.
• Provide financial direction, support, and guidance to division heads to ensure financial literacy and operational efficiency aligned with targets.
• Consolidate monthly results and forecasts for CSE Children’s services.
• Collaborate with the Managing Director & Commercial Director on strategy development.
• Lead the divisional budget process alongside the Managing Director.
• Review monthly gross profit and EBITDAR of homes; take corrective actions as needed; prepare month-end commentaries.
• Develop costings for new referrals and regularly review fees.
• Negotiate with Local Authorities on fees, rates, incentives, and disputes.
• Review and approve payroll.
• Coordinate with the senior team on financial aspects of organic development proposals.
• Prepare capital investment proposals for the Board, reviewing timelines and P&L expectations.
• Work with the Commercial Director to meet financial deadlines and ensure accurate reporting.
• Assist in financial due diligence for acquisitions and post-purchase integration.
• Analyze financial data to identify key trends.
• Perform other duties as reasonably required, consistent with the role.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Qualified Accountant or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years’ experience in a similar multi-site role.
• Strong commercial acumen.
• Proven success managing dispersed finance teams and meeting reporting deadlines.
• Experience engaging with external stakeholders in negotiations.
• Experience working closely with non-financial managers to improve performance.
• Flexible and willing to travel.
• Strong team player.
• Experience in the Health & Social Care sector, specifically Children’s services.
