We are looking to recruit an Activities Coordinator to support our patients at Oldbury, Birmingham. Coveberry Oldbury, part of The CareTech Group, is a registered locked rehabilitation hospital with 13 en-suite bedrooms and 2 independent transitional flats providing supportive rehabilitation for men with learning difficulties, ASC, and/or mental health diagnoses. Many of our patients may require detention under the MHA for forensic risks, deprivation of liberty safeguarding, to keep them safe from harm, and need a structured and safe community setting.
Requirements for the role:
- Experience working with individuals diagnosed with Learning Disability or Autism preferred
- Creative
- Good communication skills
- Must be a driver
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The post holder will provide vocational, educational, and recreational activities for the service users in the unit and via community access.
- Organize activities for all service users to develop and maintain new skills.
- Provide in-house activities for other care staff to use with service users, e.g., puzzles, football, board games, etc.
- Organize trips out for the service users. As a member of the support team, help create a safe, educational, and therapeutic environment based on individual needs, ensuring their rights, dignity, and privacy are maintained at all times.
