The Role
As a Lead Community Carer, you’ll work closely with our care and office teams to help ensure clients receive safe, reliable and consistent care.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. Flexibility is essential. Domiciliary care can be unpredictable, and there will be times when you are needed to provide short-notice support due to sickness, emergencies or unexpected changes to the rota.
You may be required to:
- Work early mornings, evenings and weekends
- Provide cover at short notice
- Work split shifts when required
- Adapt to changes in planned schedules
- Take on additional hours or overtime when available
- Step in to help during busy or challenging periods
This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, is adaptable and takes pride in helping ensure clients receive the care they depend on.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering outstanding, person-centred care
- Supporting and mentoring new carers
- Carrying out shadow shifts and providing practical guidance
- Assisting with quality checks and service improvements
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and operational activities
- Providing short-notice cover when required
- Helping maintain continuity of care during busy or challenging periods
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience working in domiciliary care
- Is passionate about delivering excellent, person-centred care
- Communicates well and enjoys supporting others
- Is organised, calm and adaptable
- Can offer a high level of flexibility to meet the needs of the service
- Is willing and able to respond to short‑notice requests for cover
- Is comfortable working a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings and weekends
- Has a full UK driving licence
- Wants to develop their career and take the next step towards leadership
Experience mentoring carers, carrying out quality checks or holding an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care would be an advantage, but a positive attitude and ambition to progress are just as important.
