About the Role
As a Weekend Community Carer, you'll visit clients in their own homes, providing personalised care and practical support to help them live as independently as possible.
Every client is different, so you'll follow individual care plans tailored to their needs, preferences, and daily routines. Some clients may need assistance with personal care, while others may require help preparing meals, taking medication, or managing everyday tasks.
Just as importantly, you'll provide companionship, reassurance, and a friendly face. Sometimes, a conversation over a cup of tea can make just as much difference as the practical support you provide.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Personal Care: Supporting clients with washing, bathing, dressing, toileting, and maintaining personal hygiene while respecting their dignity and privacy.
- Meal Preparation: Preparing meals and drinks and encouraging healthy eating and hydration.
- Medication Support: Assisting clients with medication in accordance with their care plans, your training, and company procedures.
- Daily Living: Helping with everyday tasks and routines to promote independence and wellbeing.
- Companionship: Spending quality time with clients, chatting, listening, and helping reduce feelings of loneliness.
- Promoting Independence: Encouraging clients to do what they can for themselves while providing support where needed.
- Monitoring Wellbeing: Recognising changes in a client's condition or circumstances and reporting concerns appropriately.
You'll be helping people remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes while giving their families reassurance that their loved ones are receiving the care they need.
What We're Looking For
You don't necessarily need previous care experience. What matters most is your attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
We're looking for people who are:
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to their responsibilities.
- Friendly and approachable, with good communication skills.
- Respectful of clients' dignity, privacy, and independence.
- Comfortable working independently while following care plans and procedures.
- Available and willing to work weekends.
You'll receive comprehensive training and ongoing support to help you feel confident and prepared for the role.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship.
